What it means
With Taurus rising, the first instinct is to slow down and check whether something is safe and worth the effort. People often find Taurus Rising reassuring to be around. It tends to have a pleasant, steady presence, an eye for quality and comfort, and a calm that can hide how firmly it has already made up its mind.
First impressions
Steady, warm, attractive and easy to be around, with a quiet stubborn streak.
Strengths
Calm presence, reliability, good taste and patience in new situations.
Challenges
Resisting change, slowness to warm up, stubbornness and staying in comfort zones.
Chart ruler
The planet that rules your Rising sign is called your chart ruler. For Taurus Rising that is Venus. Where that planet sits in your chart, by sign and house, says a lot about where your life's attention tends to go.
Why your birth time matters
The Rising sign changes about every two hours, so it depends on your exact birth time and place. Taurus is one of the quickest signs to rise in the northern hemisphere and one of the slowest in the southern. At New York's latitude, Taurus takes under an hour and a half to rise. If you don't know your birth time, the free blueprint shows your Rising sign as unknown instead of guessing.
How Cosmic Array reads it
Your Rising is the first layer people meet, not the whole person. A Taurus Rising with a Gemini Sun, for example, may look relaxed and settled while its mind is jumping between five ideas. Cosmic Array reads your Rising next to your Sun, Moon, numerology and Human Design, and where they pull in different directions, the blueprint names that tension instead of picking one side.
