What it means
Sagittarius is a fire sign and a mutable sign, so it pairs enthusiasm with a willingness to change course. Its symbol is the archer, usually drawn as a centaur aiming an arrow at a far target. Jupiter, its ruler, is associated with growth, belief and generosity. The Codex calls the Sagittarius Sun the explorer, whose purpose is to seek truth and expand horizons. It tends to shine when traveling, studying ideas that matter to it, and lifting other people's spirits with its optimism. It often learns best by doing, whether that means a long trip, a new language or a conversation with a stranger that runs late into the night.
Strengths
Honesty, humor, generosity, curiosity about other cultures, and faith that things can work out.
Challenges
Bluntness, restlessness, overpromising, and losing interest once the adventure turns into routine.
Dates
The Sun moves through Sagittarius from about November 22 to December 21. The exact dates shift by a day or so from year to year, so if you were born near either edge, your birth time and place decide which sign your Sun is in. A free blueprint calculates it exactly.
How Cosmic Array reads it
Your Sun is one part of the chart, not the whole of it. The Moon and Rising sign change the picture: a Sagittarius Sun with a Taurus Moon may dream of moving abroad but still want its own bed, its favorite food and a stable home base. Cosmic Array also reads your Sun against your numerology and Human Design, and where they pull in different directions, the blueprint names that tension instead of picking one side.
