What it means
Ajmaq is a day to ask pardon, both from the people you have wronged and from the ancestors, who are honoured on it. Daykeepers say people born on Ajmaq are prone to slips and faults, and that they learn from them better than anyone. The Yucatec Cib is associated with wax and with the vulture and the owl, birds tied to wisdom and to the dead. Cib people are read as quiet and thoughtful, good at seeing the hidden cause behind things. The Dreamspell's Yellow Warrior turns this into fearless questioning.
Strengths
Wisdom earned the hard way, a capacity to forgive, honesty about their own mistakes, a strong bond with elders, and questions nobody else dares to ask.
Challenges
Guilt, dwelling on the past, and repeating the same mistake before the lesson lands.
Dates
Cib comes around every 20 days, because the Tzolkin runs through its 20 day signs in a fixed order, with Men before it and Caban after it. Each time it returns it carries a new number from 1 to 13, so one exact pairing of number and sign comes back only every 260 days. The next four Cib days on or after October 23, 2026 are October 25, 2026, November 14, 2026, December 4, 2026 and December 24, 2026. The Long Count completed its 13th b'ak'tun on December 21, 2012, which was 4 Ahau, and the first Cib day after it fell on January 6, 2013. Someone born on May 4, 2002, for example, has Cib as their day sign.
How Cosmic Array reads it
Cosmic Array counts your day sign in the traditional Tzolkin, using the standard GMT correlation (584283) between the Maya Long Count and our calendar, the count that lines up with the one highland daykeepers still keep. The Architect blueprint shows your day sign by its Yucatec name, Cib, and reads it alongside your other ancient calendar signs and the rest of your chart. It shows the sign only, not the number from 1 to 13 that completes a full Tzolkin date. The colour name Yellow Warrior comes from the Dreamspell, a modern system created by Jose Arguelles. Dreamspell runs on a different day count, so a Dreamspell calculator may show a different sign for the same birthday.
