What it means
An Expression 1 does their best work when they can set the direction. Ideas tend to arrive as plans, and plans tend to turn into action quickly. Many 1s are happiest running their own project or business, or being the first person into a new field. The lesson is learning that leading doesn't mean doing everything alone.
Strengths
Initiative, independence, original ideas, decisiveness and the confidence to go first.
Challenges
Impatience, trouble delegating, bristling at instructions, and pushing ahead before others are ready.
How to calculate it
Write out your full birth name and give each letter its Pythagorean value: A, J and S are 1; B, K and T are 2; and so on up to I and R, which are 9. Add every letter, then reduce the total to a single digit, keeping 11, 22 and 33 whole. Accents don't change a letter's value. Example: Anna Ford. Anna: 1 + 5 + 5 + 1 = 12 and Ford: 6 + 6 + 9 + 4 = 25. Together 12 + 25 = 37, then 3 + 7 = 10, and 1 + 0 = 1.
How Cosmic Array reads it
The free blueprint calculates your Expression number, which it calls your Destiny number, from the full name you enter, and shows it next to your Life Path. The two often pull in different directions: the Life Path is the road you walk, and the Expression is the set of tools you carry. The reading points out where they agree and where they don't.
