What it means
Numerology calls the 8 the master of the material plane. It deals with money, authority and the balance between spiritual and material power. People on this path often have a talent for running things, whether that means a business, a team or a household. The lesson tends to come through how they handle control. The path asks them to treat power as something to share, and to measure success by who it lifts.
Strengths
Ambition, authority, strategic thinking, resilience and a talent for turning plans into results.
Challenges
Workaholism, a need for control, measuring worth by status, and a nagging worry about never having enough.
How to calculate it
Reduce your birth year, month and day to single digits separately, keeping 11, 22 and 33 whole at each step. Add the three results, then reduce the total the same way. Reducing each part on its own first is what lets a master number such as 11 or 22 survive inside a date and carry through to the total. Example: September 24, 1991. The year 1+9+9+1 = 20, and 2+0 = 2. The month is 9. The day 24 becomes 2+4 = 6. Then 2+9+6 = 17, and 1+7 = 8.
How Cosmic Array reads it
Cosmic Array reads your Life Path next to your Sun, Moon and Rising, since a number and a chart can pull in different directions. A Life Path 8 with a Pisces Sun, for example, may want authority and results while also wanting to drift, dream and avoid hard edges. A Capricorn Rising can make the 8 look all business, while a soft Moon may care more about people than the scoreboard. The blueprint names that tension instead of picking one side.
