Eb Mayan Day Sign Meaning

Eb is the twelfth day sign of the Maya Tzolkin, the sign of the road, and K'iche' daykeepers call it E. People born on an Eb day are said to be travellers and guides, with a strong sense of the path their life is meant to take. E is one of the four year bearers in the K'iche' calendar.

What it means

The Yucatec glyph has been read as a tooth, as grass and as a stairway, but in the highlands the day is plainly the road. E is a day for travel, trade and destiny, and daykeepers call on it to ask for a good path or to open one that is blocked. As a year bearer, it carries a full solar year in turn with Kej, No'j and Iq'. E people are said to be generous, sociable and good at business, and happiest when they are on the move.

Strengths

A sense of direction, generosity, an easy way of making connections, and the patience to walk a long road.

Challenges

Restlessness, wanting to be everywhere at once, and losing heart when the way ahead isn't clear.

Dates

Eb comes around every 20 days, because the Tzolkin runs through its 20 day signs in a fixed order, with Chuen before it and Ben after it. Each time it returns it carries a new number from 1 to 13, so one exact pairing of number and sign comes back only every 260 days. The next four Eb days on or after October 23, 2026 are November 10, 2026, November 30, 2026, December 20, 2026 and January 9, 2027. The Long Count completed its 13th b'ak'tun on December 21, 2012, which was 4 Ahau, and the first Eb day after it fell on January 2, 2013. Someone born on August 30, 1994, for example, has Eb as their day sign.

How Cosmic Array reads it

Cosmic Array counts your day sign in the traditional Tzolkin, using the standard GMT correlation (584283) between the Maya Long Count and our calendar, the count that lines up with the one highland daykeepers still keep. The Architect blueprint shows your day sign by its Yucatec name, Eb, and reads it alongside your other ancient calendar signs and the rest of your chart. It shows the sign only, not the number from 1 to 13 that completes a full Tzolkin date. The colour name Yellow Human comes from the Dreamspell, a modern system created by Jose Arguelles. Dreamspell runs on a different day count, so a Dreamspell calculator may show a different sign for the same birthday.
