What it means
With nothing defined below the Throat, a Mental Projector has no motor or awareness center in the body to give a yes or no. Human Design says that isn't a flaw. The mind still isn't the authority, but talking with other people lets them hear their own thinking from the outside. The place matters as much as the people. A Mental Projector often notices that a decision feels right in one room and wrong in another.
How to use it
Pick a few trusted people as sounding boards and talk the choice through with each of them, without asking for their verdict. Do it in different places. Pay attention to how each environment makes you feel and what you hear yourself say. Take your time, because big decisions usually need several conversations.
Who has it
Only Projectors can have Mental authority. Their defined centers are limited to the Head, Ajna and Throat, so there is no definition in the Heart, G, Solar Plexus, Sacral, Spleen or Root.
Common mistakes
Deciding alone in your head, treating other people's advice as the answer, staying in an environment that feels wrong, and rushing because others want an answer.
How Cosmic Array reads it
Your authority depends on which centers are defined in your bodygraph. Cosmic Array works that out from the positions of 13 bodies at your birth and again about three months before it, calculated with the Swiss Ephemeris, and shows your authority next to your type, strategy and profile in the Architect blueprint. The Moon moves fast, so a birth time helps. Without one, the blueprint uses noon and marks the result as approximate.
