Justice as Your Birth Tarot Card

Justice as a birth tarot card describes someone here to find balance and act with integrity, knowing that every choice has consequences. It is card XI of the Major Arcana in most modern decks. Readers see Justice people as fair, clear-headed and honest, the one who notices when something doesn't add up.

What it means

Justice sits between two pillars with an upright sword in one hand and scales in the other. She weighs things and then she decides. As a birth card Justice points to a life where truth and accountability keep coming up, at work, in the family or in the law itself. Justice people tend to hold themselves to a high standard and expect the same of others. The Golden Dawn links the card with Libra, the sign of balance. The lesson is mercy: fairness works best when it remembers that people are more than their mistakes.

Strengths

Fairness, honesty, clear judgment, a sense of responsibility and the nerve to say what is true.

Challenges

Harshness toward yourself, keeping score, coolness in emotional moments, and treating gray areas as if they were black and white.

With its partner cards

Justice always comes with the High Priestess as its Soul card. The pair asks for two kinds of knowing at once: the facts on the scales and the quiet intuition underneath. People with this pairing often decide well when they let a gut feeling sit next to the evidence instead of overruling it.

When it is your birth card

Greer's method adds the month, day and full year, then adds the digits until the total is 22 or less. In her terms the higher card of a pair is the Personality card and the lower one the Soul card. Between 1900 and 2030, Justice is a birth card for 4.2 percent of birthdays. It always comes as the Personality card over the High Priestess, 11 and 2. How often it turns up depends heavily on birth year, since the year makes up almost all of the total: 0.2 percent of birthdays from 1900 to 1959, 4.8 percent of birthdays from 1960 to 1999 and 11 percent of birthdays from 2000 to 2030. For example, someone born on December 4, 1993 adds 12 + 4 + 1993 = 2009, then 2 + 0 + 0 + 9 = 11, then 1 + 1 = 2. That gives Justice and the High Priestess (11 and 2).

How Cosmic Array reads it

Cosmic Array works out your birth cards from your date of birth alone with Greer's method, so no birth time is needed. The Architect blueprint lists them by name in the same panel as your Life Path, and the two always line up. A set with Justice always ends in the High Priestess, which goes with a Life Path of 2 or 11, because both reduce the same birthday digits.
