What it means
The Spleen is the oldest awareness center in the bodygraph, tied to survival, health and instinct. Its voice is quiet and immediate: a sudden sense that something is right, or a flash of unease about a person or place. It speaks only in the now. If you miss it, it doesn't come back with a second warning. Human Design treats it as the body's way of keeping you well and safe.
How to use it
Notice your first instinct before the mind starts arguing. Splenic hits are often faint, so give yourself a beat of quiet when a choice comes up. Act on it while it is fresh. You won't usually be able to explain it, and you don't need to.
Who has it
Splenic authority belongs to people with a defined Spleen and no defined Solar Plexus or Sacral. In practice that means Projectors and Manifestors. Generators with a defined Spleen still have Sacral or Emotional authority.
Common mistakes
Waiting for the instinct to repeat, talking yourself out of it because it isn't logical, mixing it up with fear, and asking other people before listening to yourself.
How Cosmic Array reads it
Your authority depends on which centers are defined in your bodygraph. Cosmic Array works that out from the positions of 13 bodies at your birth and again about three months before it, calculated with the Swiss Ephemeris, and shows your authority next to your type, strategy and profile in the Architect blueprint. The Moon moves fast, so a birth time helps. Without one, the blueprint uses noon and marks the result as approximate.
